AboutCoral's Breeder...
Coral LaCE was a 14.1
hand mahogany bay Colombian Paso Fino stallion that was
imported into the United States in 1968 by Mr. George LaHood.
He was foaled in 1964 and was bred by Alberto Uribe Sierra, a
judge and breeder of bullfighting lusitanos from Colombia,
South America. Before being imported, Coral was honored with
the highly esteemed “Horses of Horses” title in Columbia
where he was born and raised.
AboutCoral's Titles & Owners...
At the time when Coral was
imported, Mr. George LaHood and Cece Figueroa were partners,
but afterwards they separated, Coral was sent to Mr. Cece
Figuroa in Miami, Florida. Mr. Frank Noyas, of Brandon,
Florida and also well known for his Pasos with registration
names including the suffix FN, then acquired Coral.
At that time, Mr. LaHood
and Cece Figueroa were partners. When they separated, Coral
was sent to Miami Florida with Mr. Cece Figueroa. Mr.
Figueroa then sold him to Mr. Frank Noyas in Brandon, Florida
(FN Pasos). Through all the transfers of ownership, Coral
LaCE’s noble presence, beautiful conformation, gentleness,
willing temper, elegant carriage, intelligence and natural
smooth gait continued to win the hearts of many in the show
ring and as a riding companion. His accomplishments escalated
again when he was honored as the "1972 Grand National
Performance Stallion".
In 1976,
Betty Klein purchase Coral LaCE and continued to promote him
in the show ring and as a top breeding stallion. Five years
later, in 1981, he was sold for the last time, to Barbara and
Wayne Preiss where he lived happily, serving many mares to
help create the legacy that so many know him by today.
He died in 1993 at 29 years of age.
Coral LaCE's
offspring have received National titles in Pleasure,
Performance, Versatility, Driving, Largo Races and numerous
State and Regional Titles. Because of this, the Paso Fino
Horse Association honored him, in 1980, as the nations “#1
Top Producing Sire” and
an amazing thirteen times as a “Top 10 Producing
Sire”!!!
AboutCoral's Offspring & Other Accomplishments...
During Coral’s lifetime, he sired 181 registered PFHA
offspring before the era of artificial insemination. He
was probably best known for passing his carriage, natural
range of gait, intelligence and gentleness. A few exceptional
offspring worth noting are: Bobby, Alegria de Blanca, La
Sombra Nuac, Bambino de Coral, Coralito, Sundancer Mako, Night
Flight Mako, Sirena de Coral Mako, Willow Wind Mako, Coral’s
Genious Mako, Coral de Vez, Alejandro de Vez and Coral’s
Monarca de Vez.
Later, the
legendary Coral LaCE became the first horse ever honored with
induction into the "Paso Fino Hall of Fame”. He now
shares this rare honor with a few other Paso Fino legends such
as
Capuchino, Plebeyo, El Pastor, Hilachas, Kera Que Tal, Ensueno
de Colombia, Majestuoso, Mar de Plata LaCE, and Navado.
Of these greats, only Coral LaCE received the added honor of
becoming a “Foundation Sire” for the North American
Singlefooting Horse Association. It’s
been said that NASHA chose him for his longevity and
prepotency for natural gait, agility, versatility,
athleticism, and gentle disposition.
Even though
Coral’s legend is decorated by numerous titles, I believe his
greatest honor is probably the fact that owners from all over
the world are still dedicated to preserving the Coral LaCE
legacy for its gentle temperament, natural gait, versatility,
willingness and great beauty. Today, Coral LaCE is still
seen, appreciated and treasured through his sons, daughters
and grandchildren…
